Debbie Rose
Debra “Debbie” J. Rose, PhD, is Chair and Professor Emerita in the Kinesiology Department and Director Emerita of the award-winning Center for Successful Aging at California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Rose received her Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Oregon in 1982 and PhD from Penn State University in 1985. Her primary research focus is in the area of postural control, mobility enhancement, and the prevention of falls in later years. Dr. Rose is nationally and internationally recognized for her research in the assessment and treatment of balance and gait disorders. Her research has been widely published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, monographs, and professional journals. She has also received more than $6.0 million in external funding for her research in this area. Dr. Rose has been frequently recognized for her contributions to the scientific literature and to the profession. Dr. Rose served as Co-Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity from 2003-2006, currently serves on the Editorial Board for Kinesiology Review and is a Past-President (2016-2017) and active fellow in the National Academy of Kinesiology.
Elizabeth White
Elizabeth White is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in gerokinesiology. She is the Marketing Director of Pro Balance Academy as well as a Certified FallProof Master Instructor. She has years of experience designing and instructing exercise programs for older adults based on client needs, goals, and individual abilities. She is also a part-time lecturer and researcher at California State University, Fullerton, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at Mt. San Antonio College, in the Education for Older Adults Department. Elizabeth has a passion for working with the older adult population and actively teaches group-based balance, mobility, and fitness classes to older adults in hopes of helping them age successfully and improve their overall quality of life.
Judy Aprile
Judy Aprile holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the State University of New York, Geneseo, and a master’s degree in gerontology from California State University, Fullerton. In addition to her role as Creative Director for Pro Balance Academy, she is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Coastline Community College in Orange County, California. She is a recipient of Coastline College’s Teaching Excellence Award, received FallProof™ Instructor certification in 2001 and was the first to become a FallProof™ Master Instructor. Judy has worked with over 4,000 older adult students in a wide range of fitness and balance classes.
